Dr. Vikas Raj
Education & Background
Dr. Vikas Raj earned his dental degree from Dashmesh Institute of Research & Dental Sciences in Faridkot, Punjab, in 1999. He has been caring for Indian, Canadian, and American patients for more than 18 years and has owned and operated five dental practices in India. When he learned that the Canadian dental exams conducted by the NDEB are among the toughest and demand the highest level of skill, he decided to take on the challenge and successfully passed the exams in 2017.
Experience & Expertise
Dr. Raj is highly trained in all aspects of dentistry, including restorative, surgical, endodontic, and prosthetic treatments. He actively participates in numerous continuing education courses and dental seminars to stay current with the latest advancements in the field. To provide comfortable care for anxious patients, he has completed specialized training in inhalation and oral sedation. In addition, he has completed courses in India focusing on implants and orthodontics.
Philosophy & Community Work
Dr. Raj believes in “not staying within the limits you already know.” He values lifelong learning and considers having a family one of life’s greatest blessings. In his free time, Dr. Raj volunteers with the Gospel Mission, bringing dental care to people in need.

Do I really have to go to the Dentist frequently?
How often you go for dental exams depends on your oral health needs. The goal is to catch small problems early. For many people, this means a dental exam every six months. Your dentist may suggest that you visit more or less often depending on how well you care for your teeth and gums, problems you have that need to be checked or treated, how fast tartar builds up on your teeth, and so on.
Do I need x-rays at each visit?
How often you need to have x-rays also depends on your oral health. A healthy adult who has not had cavities or other problems for a couple of years probably won't need x-rays at every appointment. If your dental situation is less stable and your dentist is monitoring your progress, you may require more frequent x-rays.
How can I get my records transferred?
Original dental records belong to the dentist who provided the treatment, and not the patient, because dentists have to keep all of their records for a period of time, as set out by their provincial dental regulatory body. Once you have selected a new dentist, you can request that a copy of your records be transferred from your former dentist.
